Michael Uhler / Bass
Mike Uhler attended the UCLA Jazz Studies Program and studied with jazz greats Gerald Wilson and Billy Higgins. While there, he had the opportunity to perform with Herbie Hancock, Quincy Jones and Kenny Burrell. After graduating, Mike received his Masters in jazz studies at USC. Since then He has been busy performing live and in the recording studio in the greater Los Angeles area and beyond. He also teaches regularly at the Silverlake Conservatory of Music (Flea of the Red Hot Chili Peppers’ non-profit music school). In the studio Mike has arranged music and played for Spongebob Squarepants and the Hi Seas hit album ‘The Best Day Ever’ as well as Wierd Al Yankovic’s latest album “Mandatory Fun” which reached #1 on the charts. Mike has played on numerous studio sessions for Nickelodeon, Funny or Die, Robert Goulet and more. Mike has appeared onscreen as a musician in Tom Hanks’ hit film, ‘That Thing You Do’ as well as episodes of Star Trek and Suburgatory, and the music video ‘Time after Time’ with Rod Stewart. Mike loves to play with the Red Hot Band because it gives him the opportunity to do one of the things he enjoys most- Making people dance!
